Morning all,

I have a 2017 FL Sportback with factory fitted 1/2 leather 1/2 alcantara heated seats.

Both seats heat, however the seat base on the drivers seat does not get hot.

Before the weather gets really cold does anyone know a likely problem that‘s preventing it from keeping my backside and not just back, nice and toasty?

Cheers all.

My electrical knowledge is not great, but the logic would be it is either the switch or the seat element is at fault. If the seat base is getting some heat, but not hot, then the element is working and the switch is at fault. My 2019 model has 3 settings on the switch, which I'm guessing are via a variable/stepped resistor, possibly like the controller on the cars internal heater fan. My guess this is where the fault lies, but you would need an auto electrician to give a true diagnosis and they would probably be needed to swap the part over.

Given that the switch changes the temperature of the backrest, I’m guessing/hoping it may just be a connection problem.

Had a busy weekend fixing the in-laws sink and fireplace , but will take a look next weekend.
