I have a 2.0 TDI A3 8P Sportback Quattro, its a 2012. I had a warning light come on recently and it was apparently the glow plugs. So the garage changed them, 2 days later i have an intermittent engine ticking noise. 2 days after that i have a constant ticking noise
It ticks faster as i accelerate, it ticks when idling, and it ticks louder when warmed up
I have been to three garages so far, and i have had an engine flush, an oil change, 2 of the injectors tested, driven 400+ miles with a valve lifter treatment in the engine, and every garage has said something along the lines of "we will have to dig deeper into the engine, no guarantees we will find anything and it will cost a lot"
I am after any recommendations as to what i should do next, or if anyone has any trusted garages they know that might be able to help. Currently willing to travel pretty much UK wide if it comes down to it
