Knack to removing jack point cover?

Feels like the sill cover on my C7 Avant that is meant to be removed before jacking is going to break - is it just pull out towards you like the manual says? Am I just not brave enough?

I'd recommend getting a trolley jack and one of these adapters. It fits into the jacking point slot and into the trolley jack shoe. Amazon product

So If I have one of those for my jack I can leave the sill cover on? Thanks

Yes, I've never taken the covers off, but then I've never used the supplied car jack (fingers crossed it stays that way!). I always use my own trolley jack and torque wrench.
