Has anyone had their steering repaired? Basically AA guy through Audi Assist attended my A6 to diagnose a fault (what a shock!) and left me with a damaged steering wheel due to getting into the car without adjusting the seat. I think a zip or something else sharp caught the wheel. A new wheel is £955 through Audi, the AA have said they'd cover a smart repair but I'm struggling to find anyone who will do it due to the perforated leather.

You’ll probably have to to have the entire steering wheel redone. It isn’t cheap, but I don’t think you’re going to find someone to just patch a hole in perforated leather.
my steering wheel was like yours with the perforated leather, but I had it redone in Alcântara. Here are a few pics. Cost me $850 and only took a week.

On a detailing forum I am on, many have had a great experience with Royale Steering Wheels (https://royalsteeringwheels.com). It would probably require sending them the wheel, but should be cheaper than buying new from Audi. Definitely worth a call I would suggest
