Auto wipers fault, wiping when not raining

My wife’s 2013 A1 has started to turn the auto windscreen wipers on when it’s not raining.

Only does it intermittently but becoming a bit of a pain.

Anyone know what could be causing it, please?

Just in case anyone having similar issues. The car went in for an aircon compressor today.

The garage ran a diagnostic and think the ’gel’ between the windscreen and sensor may have broken down, it’s either that or the wiper stalk.

They need to do a road test to check the stalk and monitor the output when the wipers kick in!

I‘ll keep you posted, but not a major issue atm, so will get them to do the road test on its next service.
