Interior lights

Hi guys.
Should the interior lights switch on automatically when the doors are opened/l and when the engine is turned off?
Every other car I've had has done this but the Audi doesn't.
It's going in for warranty work on the MMI (SOS fault) so what to get as many items as possible checked out when it's in.

Make sure that the button with the picture of a car with the doors open up by the mirror is activated. It's just a press button rather than a rocker switch as it tended to be in days gone by.

Thanks @Daggerit , button wasn't pressed. All working as it should now...
