Short shifter (A3 8P)

Looking to put a little mod on my A3.

What short shifters have people bought before or recommend. And is it easy to do? Think its below the air intake filter.

I've had DieselGeek short shifters on both my 8p A3 my 8p S3.
My A3 came with one on there when I bought it, I loved it so much I bought one for my S3 and installed it myself.

I think you need to do more research if you just think it is below the air filter and are not sure.
After installing you will have to do a gear cable reset and so you need to know how to do that as well.
The S3 shifter is shorter than the standard A3 so a 2nd hand one might a be a good option.
you can also change the cable end bushes from plastic/rubber to metal and that removes more free play.
