Spare keys

hi all

maybe a silly question, but i brought my car with only one key ‘11 sportback.
you can pull the button on the right of the clocks and it will come up on the screen saying “number of keys 2/2”
is there any way to remove the other key and just keep the one i have in my possession or is that not a thing that i should be worried about?

It is possible with an expensive tool, you don't need to be worried about it. Just make sure you get another key made, in case you lose the one you have.

For this you need the SKC I think and then recode all keys to the immobiliser, might be wrong

The screen you refer to is for the immobiliser rather than the remote locking FYI, remote locking is easy with VCDS

The SKC is something Audi won't give you though they might remove the old key? Else they would code it when supplying a new key. To do this yourself you'd need someone with knowledge and equipment who can extract the code from your cluster, then you can use it within VCDS also
