Clicking whilst braking

Hi newbie to s4 I've just swapped my Ur quattro for a s4 avant, 1999 facelift model, nice running car, its high miles 120k has a full vag history and just been moted, the only fault I have come across is sometimes when I brake I get a clicking noise I can hear and feel through the pedal, any ideas please

If its loud and you can feel the pedal move quite a bit it could be an ABS sensor or wheel sensor plate thing is damaged or not working properly.

This might be a silly question - but could it be the brake light switch? I can hear mine click when I touch the pedal.

It clicks a few times, so I doubt its switch, how many miles are these engines good for?
