I was stopped when a fellow driver had road rage at me and drove a pick up truck into me. I believe he was found by police. My car had a major scuff to the bumper, missing washer jet trim piece, tiny bend in fender, and broke headlight and radiator mount and folded radiators down and mount for them. Car was leaking coolant after. I drove it a very short distance to a spot to a spot where it could wait to be towed from. The car was running still but had a clunking noise which I’m not sure if it was from engine (1.8t) or from fans. No airbags or lights came on the dash. I am wondering now if I can do a quick repair to replace the hood and radiator and mounts plus the head light just to get the car operational. I expect the insurance company will try to write it off. The car is a 2005 A4 1.8t multitronic front trak with 180k kms. I had just put on new front brakes, tires, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, fuel filter, oil change, windscreen, serpentine belt, water pump and timing belt before the accident during past couple of months essentially. Please let me know what your thoughts are on repairing this on the cheap. I am willing to sacrifice repainting and the bumper and hood latch if can reduce the cost to do the needed mechanical work for the cooling system to work. Thanks, I’ll let everyone know how it goes!
