For those of you who own a physical new RS3, what's the orange peel like on the paint? From looking through the pictures in this thread, the paint appears to be fairly decent? However, I've just been browsing through other pictures online and this example of a Kemora Grey boot with awful orange peel caught my eye...

Every Audi or for that fact all mass produced cars have the orange peel effect on vertical panels more noticeable in bright light/darker paint colours

8V and 8Y i got has even trash in paint so nothing new

I wonder what Audi would say years down the line if you took your car back with a paint defect and they checked the paint thickness and concluded it had been 'corrected and machine polished' ?

Audi blamed ‘environmental’ conditions.

I had it stripped back to the colour and re-lacquered

Then exactly 3 weeks later they started appearing again.

So back in it went and they disappeared upon reaching the grey base primer.
The guy at the body shop said he’d never seen anything like that before, especially as it took over 3 yrs for them to appear, probably contamination at the factory paint line he said.

Looks amazing, mines going in on Monday to be Ceramic coated.

The colour is alot different in person, so glad I didn't change my mind on colour. I was very close to changing it

That part of the boot has always been fairly bad. On my 8v S3 the lacquer finished about 3 inches from the underside of the boot lip. 8y is about the same as that pic but lacquer goes to the top of the panel at least. Elsewhere the paint is flawless.

I was pleasantly surprised tbh. Not as bad as some…

Paint seems soft though so “love marks” are easy to inflict…

I do have mythos though so it shows up everything.

A tad hypocritical given you say you ordered Riviera - got that colour on my TTRS and it's way louder than Kyalami and really does say, 'look at me'.

Turbo Blue indeed as bright as Kyalami just about. Nail, head, period.

When I turned up at my wife’s work to show her the turbo blue demo car the first thing she said was ‘wow, that’s bright! Doesn’t really need to be that bright though does it?’

Merlin looks nice but the spoiler is terrible. I don’t get why they wanted an A45 AMG style spoiler on it.

That actually looks like spider poo, I get v similar (but on top of paint) when I park my car in the garage

Had a Daytona s3 following me the other day… do like that colour - was my colour of choice from the standard palette.

With the black accents I think it’s the top standard colour

Must admit with the sun out today it’s been great smashing around with the pano open letting more noise in.

Let’s loads of light in too so don’t need the contrast stitching
