2019 water pump recall?

Hi all,

My 2018 RS3 Saloon appears to have a water pump fail (loss of coolant, white crusty spatter marks on the driver's side of the engine bay).

I know there have been lots of forum threads here and elsewhere about failures, but I was wondering if there were any recalls or anything about it. The car is just out of the 3 year warranty (June 2018 mfct) so wondering what the options are for such an early failure (40k miles).

You could try Audi for what it’s worth, doubt you’ll get any traction but you never know.

Failing that I’d be either doing it myself or getting a specialist Vag garage to do it.

Yeah the pumps aint cheap, I was looking around for an upgraded unit but no luck. Seems like a pig of a job to shift the engine over for access myself.

Engine mounts / dog bone undone
2 trolley jacks one to lower gearbox side one to lift engine, so it effectively tilts to allow access to the pump.
