As the title says will I damage my diesel glow plug circuit while going into OBD test mode?
I seem to remember reading many years ago that leaving the diesel ignition on for any length of it would damage the glow plug circuit
Once I plug in the OBD I am required to turn the ignition on, then it communicates with the ODB dongle
Can anybody please shed some light on this please?

Not at all afaik, glowplugs are based on temps, given the current weather they wont even activate tbh, only winter they heat the cylinders for a small period of time, then they switch off, never heard of obd tests affecting them.

Hi there
Many thanks for that, would I be right in saying that many years ago it was the case, or am I just reading too much into it
