I have a 2012 Audi A6/C7 3.0 V6 TFSI with adjustable air suspension which has just been a nightmare. After changing all 4 air bags and the relay, it took just a few months before it dropped again on all four corners. I just want this nightmare to end. I've decided to convert to coils and settled on the ST kit for my car.

The problem is ST doesn't want to sell it to me! My local dealer said the kit is not applicable to units with adjustable dampening/level control. But thats the whole point! I just want to convert to normal springs and never have to worry again. If its just warning lights on the dash coming up after the conversion I can live with that. If theres a way to cancel those errors, I'd really appreciate the instructions.

I'm really looking for is someone who has a 2012-2014 A6 or A7 (C7), S6 or Allroad with the air suspension who has converted to coils. Pls., pls. let me know:

1) If the ST coils will work out. Will they fit without issues? - https://www.ecstuning.com/b-suspensi...g/1321000b~st/

2) If you didn't use the ST's? What coilovers did you use?

3) Are the level controls/EDC going to be an issue after the conversion? Or is it just warning lights?

4) How to cancel/code-out the lights?

Praying someone will help end this nightmare. Thank you.

The problem you have is it's not a straight conversion, for example the the rear wheel bearing housing also need to be changed as there is a version for air suspension and standard suspension. The wheel bearing alone housing is £435 per side, track rod end also appears to be different which is another £50 per side.

The front is not so bad but it's still around £100 of conversion parts per side.

So you are looking at over £1100 of parts + the suspension. It's most likely the reason why they don't want to sell you the kit, because you will try and fit it and find out it just won't fit, so would have to return it.

Think your cheapest option is to find the air leak and get it fixed.

Thanks @B5NUT. Really good to hear from someone knows what this takes. Bad news that I still have to deal with the air suspension which could fail again in many other ways.

Just curious, why were some Allroad users and others on air suspension able to do this? And seemingly without much pain, other than the lights on the dash. Then again, I haven't come across an A6 C7 owner who can vouch for this, mostly C6 owners. So the problem you describe is unique to the newer (2012+) generations?

For fixing the air suspension, any recommendations where to look next aside from the bags and the relay? Many thanks.

Maybe worth speaking to Bagpipingandy https://www.bagpipingandy.com/ . Many seem to have found him very helpful in resolving Audi air suspension issues

There may be some adapters you can by but I've not idea on that one. Even on the C6 the lower suspension arm was different between air and springs, now maybe someone came up with an adapter or people have been buying the lower arms from breakers to keep the costs down.

As for fixing I have no idea, but if the bags are leaking then then should be under warranty. search for a specialist in your local area (does not have to be audi specialist) they may be able to help.
