Intermittent roof problem Please help!

Hi guys hope your all well in these weird times
I've been having intermittent roof problems and its driving me mad. Cleaned roof motor etc and itll work 10 times then itll only go up a few inches and then it has to be reset.

I had the faults read and heres what it said.

01616 signal wire to interior monitor
79-10 intermittent
01616 signal wire to interior monitor
49-10 no communications intermittent

01616 signal wire to interior monitor
29-00 short to ground.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Those faults are all to do with the alarm. What are you using to read faults?

Hi there I went to a mobile guy and he has the proper software to read for the faults. Could that effect the roof operation?

Unlikely to affect the roof, most older Audis have the alarm fault as the alarm unit battery leaks and buggers the alarm siren. You need to get hold of a copy of VCDS and check the roof control module for faults.

Thanks for your help. I have all the vcds and theres no mention of any roof issues. All seems to be alarm issues as you've said.
I'm a bit lost as to what to do next really.

Only module one in there is
01839 transciever module 1 for interior monitoring (g303)
52-10 supply voltage too high (intermittent)

I presume that's alarm.

Have you gone into the control module and checked for faults manualy? Is it a full version. If so run the tests to check each sensor on the roof.

Someone scanned it for me so I've no idea. So I presume I'll need to go back and get him to check the roof sensors manually? That right?

Yeah I would go into the roof control module and go from there.
