1.4 tfsi

Hi to all who read this
some time in near future I was thinking of getting a A1 tfsi
is this the same engine that thy put in the fabia vrs /cupra/polo gti
the one with all the oil burning problems
or is Is it a different one
or is it better to get a tdi cr 2.0
in stead?

What year are we talking about ? I just bought a 2015 1.4TFSI and its not the same engine as the Fabia VRS/Cupra/Polo GTI, I was going down the route of a TDI after selling my Modified Fabia 1.9TDI, but down here in Cornwall diesels are a problem with regens being the bug bear on short trips and not having to drive round in 3rd gear to let it finish its cycle. I'd love another Diesel but being in the motor trade all my life its not a diesel I'd buy with their problems, even the latest engines down here are a problem.

In that case not the same engine as you mentioned, just be aware of timing chain noise on the earlier cars.

I believe it is the same 1.4 Turbo Supercharged engine, however, I ran a '59 Bocanegra for many years without any oil issues
