Not that i know of with insurance it all circumstanial (spelt wrong) age, history, address, car, age, value, license the list goes on.

Anyway guys go to Greenlight you may be plensently surprised, they didnt even charge me extra for business cover, i dont even have a remap yet but i have cover.

The best three quotes I had this year were from Tesco (the lowest, now my insurer), Privilege and Direct Line. I have a standard car, no claims and 3 points.

Next year this lot will be the most expensive at renewal and I'll probably find Norwich Union, Axa et al are more competitive. That's the way it goes every year, the whole industry is set up to reward you for moving on to another company, they prey on the lazy.

Im now 18 guys, had my A3 T Sport a year paying a ridiculous 3k a year on my mums name. I got a years no claims from this year and also a year from NIG who had a Bike with.

I went to money supermarket £2,000 Fully comp in my own name so i was happy with that. Renawl time has come up and the quotes are there on money supermarket when you try to retrieve them it says im too young etc so i dont know what to do!

Why does it give you a quote then say no your too young?

Any ideas where to go?

Jason

elephant was always good when i was younger but to be honest you shouldnt have an A3 1.8T at your age the insurance prices you are being quoted reflect that. Of course if you have the cash then go for it.

I know every-one will say i shouldnt have one at my age etc i do pay for it myself though.

Some guys are on here at 19 with S3's....

All im saying was moneysupermarket gave me a quote then when i go to retrieve it it changes.

Any ideas where i could go?

Jason

Fair enough i m not having a dig but thats why your insurance is high. Try elephant, admiral, bell same comapny always different quotes provided by each though.

Ok cheers mate i thought with a years driving expierience and NCB it would have gone down...

Obviously not!

Jason, it's not your age that shocks, more the fact that you can waste so much money on insuring your A3, they're simply not that good. I'm twice your age so much easier to insure, but if my S3 got anywhere near half that amount to insure I would get shot of it, it's simply not good enough for that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an audi enthusiast, I have two, and they meet my needs perfectly. However given the choice between spending that sort of money on a mediocre posh car, or having a laugh in something much cheaper and fun like a Saxo VTS/R, 106 GTi, Polo 16V/GTi or a Golf Mk2 GTi, and using the cash difference on a long travelling holiday somewhere that doesn't rain all the time, no contest.

Still there you are, it's your cash, enjoy it.

Have you tried a specialist broker such as Adrian Flux, www.adrianflux.co.uk?

Thats fair enough i contemplated getting rid of it but ive spent so much money on it its not finacially veasable to sell it. Plus the fact its got outstanding HP on it.

Also with a remap and my other mods im looking at 200 BHP which i couldnt see out of a saxo/clio/corsa. Its been so good over the year ive had it which is why i dont want to get rid of it.

I Wouldnt mind something cheaper what happened was i had a battered old BMW got it to the a garage and basically had to choose whatever was in the garage it was the A3 Or a 2.0 Golf i chose the Audi and had it ever since!

Best quote ive had is £1700 Fully Comp in my own name Which surely isnt that bad being as im 18?

Jason

Thats isnt a bad quote considering, i wouldnt pay it though. £1200 tops i would pay.
