Goodmorning,

I while ago i purchased an Integrated Engineering manifold for my S3.
I still have to get it fitted, but i first have a question that need to get out of the way.

With this manifold installed, the runner flaps in the intake pipes will no longer be there.
But in the cylinderhead, there are still some sort of shims present. These shims affect the airflow.

My tuner did not know if i have to delete the shims or just let them be.

Is there someone here who did a runner flap delete or who fitted an other manifold?

The shim (or partition as it is sometimes being called) looks like this:

Can you see it this way?

I would ask the same question on TFSI tuning Facebook as more folks have this type of inlet manifold.
Using RTech in Nuneaton as your tuner would give you confidence as they are extremely knowledgeable about your engine.

The problem is, i don't have facebook haha.

Also, i am living in the netherlands, I will give RTech a call and ask them!

But if anyone here knows an answer that would also be great!

I would say you pull those out when you do the rfd mod. The idea is to remove restriction in the airflow so those are only needed when you have the runner flaps installed.

Wie is je tuner? Je moet een RFD aanschaffen, te krijgen bij oa Creation Motorsports... stuur me anders even een PB met je telefoonnummer, dan kan ik je een appje sturen, en kun je alles vragen wat je maar wilt!

Everyone with RFD pulls them out...
