As in the title really guys, what is the best or prefered method of prep for plastic that one wishes to paint/spray.
Not thinking plasticote but more wet paint with lacquer , I want it to stay on for as long as poss really with a tuff finish so base prep is key , correct.
any thoughts .

I use a U-POL plastic primer and they have come up well. https://www.u-pol.com/uk/en-uk/prod...plastic-primer-adhesion-promoter#.XOXMh4hKhPY Once that has dried, I use the normal high build primer, base and clear coat.

If you want a tough finish then your best using 2pack clear coat, 1K & cellulose takes a age to dry (weeks) and is so soft during that time, unless you have heaters and good air flow. Just read up on the H&S for 2K as it's nasty stuff.
