Depends where the scratch is and what part of the dash it's on! And how deep it is.Hi all
Any ideas how to disguise a sracthed plastic dashboard
Thanks
For small scratches on black trim, the black cap off a plastic pen works! The first time I saw it done I was shocked and amazed...I work in a car factory!I had scratches and white bloom marks in the plastic boot lining and door trims of a VW some years ago. They body shop used a hot air gun to remove these. The plastic initially went shiny and a week or so later all marks had gone. You have to know what you are doing to attempt this.
You could try a hair drier as a safer alternative.
I have also found WD40 spray works a treat on scuff marks etc on plastic trim in general.

Can you explain? For small scratches on black trim, the black cap off a plastic pen works! The first time I saw it done I was shocked and amazed...I work in a car factory!
Rub the black plastic on the scratch firm and fast...then wet your finger and lightly rub it...it blends in! Funnily enough I did it this week on a carCan you explain?
Need to try that, thought it would scratch it also as the lid is quite hard plastic.Rub the black plastic on the scratch firm and fast...then wet your finger and lightly rub it...it blends in! Funnily enough I did it this week on a car
Try with care mate, when it's not your own car and it doesn't work! you can just order a replacement part to be brought out and switch them over there and then! I've also done it with a pair of black rubber coated work gloves.Need to try that, thought it would scratch it also as the lid is quite hard plastic.
