A3 8v 14 standard suspension atm.

Ok, looking at some new wheels.

Options are 18 or 19

I’m looking for something like et35 235s
Will these fit without rubbing the inside arch? I know many are on 40+et but I don’t like them out of the arches tbh.

Also, would rather 235 18s et35 as not keen on stretching to get 19s

Also, if I thought they rubbed too much couldn’t I just add some spacers to them?

What width are you looking at? 235 on 8.5 j isn’t stretched. Also anything lower that et45 will poke (lower offset = more poke) maybe get away with et42 on 8j I have et45 with 19x8.5 235-35/19 and fronts are flush with arch. Rears are in by 8-10 mm. Are you hatch or saloon (all above is sport back biased)

Most of the tyre sets are 19 225 et45. I’m thinking that’s pretty close to what I want but prefer 235 as 225 look slightly stretched on an 8j. Some on eBay are 18 et35 but that’s going stick out a lot isn’t it.

Do you have any front-view pictures of your setup? You say that your wheels don't poke. Does it apply to the rim only or to the entire wheel as the tyre adds more width to it?

Well I’ve got 235 on 8.5 and if any stretch it’s minimal. I have p zeros too which have a larger rim protection but I’d you go for contis or similar they will appear squarer. Search for the S3 wheel thread. There is loads of info and I posted pics from different angles

It seems most suppliers are fitting 225s to 8.5j wheels. To me they tend to look slightly stretched but also as above leave the wheel open to major curbing. Just making sure they are not too wide at et45.

Gone with these 19” et45 with 235S

Fingers crossed thanks for the help everyone!

Thought about gunmetal ones but on a red car they should look really nice!

Both gunmetal and black should look nice on a red car. Feel free to sharing dozens of pictures when you get these wheels fitted :)

That’s after wash and wax today..
