Hi everyone. Please can you help me. I’ve bought some rs5 exclusive wingback seats. I’ve had them fitted. Have you guys just been able to fit wingback seats straight in With resistors on and have no problems ? The airbag wiring on seats has had resistors put in both seats which cleared the airbag fault but the airbag fault light is still showing. The fault is saying passenger and drivers seat postition sensors. The garage are saying the wingback seats don’t have the seat position sensors on ? I got told these seats just plug straight in and all I would need to do is put resistors in which is all done and no faults. When they was getting fitted the yellow connector on wingback seat was different from the rs5 standard seat yellow connector. Could anybody please help me I have no car till this is fixed I sold my standard seats. will pay anyone who can help me. Much appreciated

It’s a 2012 rs5 facelift mate. I’m hoping someone on here can help me as I’m stuck spent 27k on the car and I can’t use it will pay for your time and efforts

I had the standard recaro sportster seats fitted previously. Everything works on the wingbacks as it should e.g the heated function. The lumbar support. The only thing that is not connected is the airbag yellow connector as this didn’t clip in. Strange as the seat is from the same car. The wingbacks don’t have airbags in so there has been resistors fitted. Now it’s just the position sensors? Do you know if the wingbacks have seat position sensors fitted? As if they don’t I’ve been told to get them coded out but no one seems to be able to have the knowledge to do this. And I’ve hit a brick wall and thousands of pounds spent with a bad result

I would suspect you need to get the coding sorted out , on a lot of the newer variants more and more functions are coded in, as you have changed an item that may well have be setup on the car its looking for a function that's not there or not functioning correctly now.
I'd be running vcds before anything else to see what is showing on the error log.

What can work sometimes is if you disconnect the battery for a while ,it can just help clear errors after unplugging things like air bags and interior options.

Try talking to @DJAlix. He's a fully licensed VAG coding specialist . I can't say for sure if he can help you but he knows his stuff , so with a try . Good luck mate

Yeah I have had it plugged in to vagcom and they have said it’s just bringing up both passenger and drivers side seat position sensor ? That’s the only fault the car has and causing the airbag light to be on

If you look at the rs5 parts diagram it will should say which seats have position sensors etc.
Where are the air bag resistor's fitted , normally they would be fitted to the airbag plug on the loom.

There's so much electronics and coding involved with high end cars nowadays, it's a minefield .

Having it plugged into VAGCOM / VCDS is just the start . You need someone that really knows and understands how to interpret the results . Else you being looping round in a financially draining circle.

Yeah the resistors are fitted to the airbag loom. That fault is done and cleared. It’s just both position sensors that are coming up now. I have sent that guy a pm. Hopefully he will be able to help me. Thank you to you both for helping me as much as you can
