Hi all,

My 2006 A3 2.0 tdi 140 S-line has become rather sick sadly!

Turbo is on it's way out, the old famous siren and whirling noises and throwing itself into limp mode.

I'm based in South Wales, my nearest Audi Specialist has quoted me £950 for doing the turbo (warranted), oil, oil pipe and filter.

Does this seem about right?
Or can anyone reccomend other specialists in my area to head for?

Also about to have the Cambelt / water pump done too, What sort of price is right for that?

Cheers in advance,
Jon

About £250-350 for the belt and pump.

From South Wales originally but move a lot, got mine done here PSC Autocentre Cheltenham - would cost you £347 and an hours drive. So i'd budget similar.

Are you sure it's the turbo and not just leaky boost pipes due to the crappy clips? That will send you into limp mode until you turn it off and on again. But would cost you the price of a Jubilee clip to fix. It depends entirely what the guy is doing with the turbo.

£950 is right. The turbo is about £600 brand new, add labour new gaskets, oil and filter and I can see no price gaps. Cam belt for £350 to £400 is the going rate.
