Just a quick one as I've never bought new before.
My son ordered a new Ibiza FR in April.
It's finally arrived at the dealers and they are pushing him to sign the paperwork asap before picking up next week.
We are on holiday until the weekend but he's giddy to put pen to paper to speed up the process.
I've always done any paperwork on collection, is there any reason why he shouldn't too?

Paper work on the day for me. If anything isn't quite right you can refuse to sign until whatever is to toe satisfaction. If you've already signed said paper work , you lose that leverage.

Well that's what I've told him but you know what kids are like...

The dealership I've dealt with for years always gets me (or the wife for her cars) in a few days in advance to sign the paperwork.
That includes finance paperwork if you're not buying outright.
Not sure if this is for their convenience or compulsory though.

He did sign the paperwork a few days before and then paid the balance when he collected it last night.
We did inspect it though beforehand and everything was fine
