Tips to remove this hose?

I have a cracked hose I need to replace, part number is 06F103235A, but it has a weird square connector on either end and I already broke one end trying to take it off, any tips how to get this sucker off without breaking it?

Now you got the old one off have a look at the non broken end. It’s the pcv hose yeah?

I think you have to squeeze the square bits together somewhere to press on a tab or something that should then release the connection
