I’ve recently changed the turbo and then a new engine due to a internal oil leak.
I’ve since got a progressive blow up top which I can’t find !
I’m thinking the 3 whole gasket between the turbo/manifold.
Has any body on here suffered with a cracked manifold etc? Are they common to go?
I’ve ordered the gasket from TPS but really not in the mood to stripping it all apart AGAIN!
If they are liable to go I might start looking for a performance manifold and down pipe.
These engines seem to get hot very quick and I can’t get my hands down to feel the blowing.
It’s almost not noticeable but bugs the hell out me !!

Tape a little bit of tissue onto a cane/stick/long screwdriver and slowly move it about the area until you see it fluttering, that should show where the blow is.

Found the leak .....
Gasket between turbo and manifold found to be completely shot.
Brand new ???

my cracked turbo hotside and manifold matched the breaks in the gasket.
have you already removed the manifold? it requires an e14 but careful the bolt (x3) doesn't just get rounded off. probably easier to remove the cross member get the manifold hot, maybe use and impact driver?

Been all good since the new gasket.
Did find some bolts to be loose in the manifold.
Bit strange as they do not seem to have a purpose?
