Installing new MAF

hi guys.
i just got a new MAF from ebay because my old one was reading a bit low (about 185 max). after installing, the car seems to hesitate around 3000rpm and when i depress the clutch the revs drop to around 500 then back to normal. this one also reads around 185 max. a friend suggested that after installing a new MAF i should do a throttle body alignment. is this true?

after seeing the new one also read a bit low, can there be another fault with my car? the car is running strong with very good performance...

any help would be appreciated...

Doing that sounds like another faulty MAF!

MAF is plug and play, no need to set or reset anything, change it and go go go...
