Clunking noise

A4 B9 Avant S Tronic Tdi 190 quattro.

Got a weird kind of clunking noise from my car after first starting it up and reaching about 27 mph. Sounds like I have driven over some stones or something. Anyone else have this ?

This was covered in a thread a fair while back I believe. The overall consensus is that it's the ABS pump/system doing its thing, so nothing to worry about.

Personally I have never heard any clunking myself....

I only just noticed it the other day, a subtle clunk from around the footwell area.

Yeah totally normal, 24 to 25 mph in mine - always done it, you just only notice it on a smooth surface. Comes from right front area.

Think its been covered in at least 3 posts in depth already, nothing at all to worry about, happens around 24-26mph, as discussed already apparently it's the ABS self test - will only do it the once after starting ignition, so if you come to a standstill and set off again it won't happen until you next switch off the car / then subsequently re-start and reach 24-26mph.
