How much BHP?

not sure if I'm posting this on the right part, however.
I have a 2008 s-tronic 1.8t A3, I want to remap it, but I'm not sure how much bhp my engine and gear box can take safely ? Some people are saying 225bhp and some are saying up to 300bhp!?! Engine is comepletely standard at the moment, also what is the best remap software?

You want to post this in the 8p section will get more of a response. You should be able to stick a stage 1 map on it no problem. I'd Get a custom map not a generic one

Stage 1 will take you to nearly 200bhp, after that you will be looking at 200 cell cat downpipe and cai, with intercooler for stage 2, your car and clutch should be able to handle that at 225bhp easily.
