Wait for 184 or settle with 150

I had the 150 in an A4 and it was quite sluggish, also had the 184 in the TT ultra and was impressed with economy and performance, I'd hold out if I were you as it's likely you'll want to change.

I took delivery of my new 184 on 2 Mrach and on 5 March took it on holiday to Germany for a week and covered over 1,000 miles. Fantastic car and engine. This is my second 184. It depends on what you used to. I had a 170 before my first 184 and when I tried the 150 it seem to be lacking in power and torque.

I went from a mapped 170bhp to the 184bhp. It's a cracking engine.

Have to admit the 184 does feel a lot more powerful than the 150, after having had it for a couple of weeks now. As for whether you need that or not, only you can decide I think. The economy so far isn't as good, but then it's a new engine and I can't remember what I was doing when my 150 engine was new.

I've now moved into a 190bhp A4, and the 184 A3 is considerably quicker, in all gears.
