So I'm just cancelling my current ford service plan, i was paying them £25 per month and i haven't had the service done before i cancelled they have told me they will refund me what I've paid.

So i was wondering if any current S4 owners have taken one out with there dealer ? and if so how much are you all paying.

I will be using JCT600 so if anyone has experience with using there service plans your input would be great.

Obviously ill be going to dealer and getting quote once car arrives but just wanted to get an idea of what to expect.

Cheers

Nath

That's a good question because I had the Audi Complete option on my last A4 which was handy for the tyre changes and servicing. I'd definitely look to do the same for the S4 when I order if it's not ridiculously expensive.

How much was Audi complete on the A4? i was told that its expensive if you include the tyre plan

I have a service plan on my A4 with JCT600.
Its for the first 3 annual services and costs me £28.66 per month for 31 months.

I asked, no service plan for S4 according to dealer

If I remember rightly it was £45-50 a month for the 3.0 tdi 245PS model. Included everything including brakes and tyres (255/35/19's).

I didn't think that was too bad when the tyres were £200+ retail from Audi each (not that I'd get them from Audi if I wasn't on the plan...).

Not relevant so much to the S4, but maybe a benchmark to start from, my service plan, which is fixed service intervals not variable which should be made clear as there is a difference, is £9.71 per month over three years..

On my phone so can't see your signature, what's your engine and drivetrain?

That's cheap regardless of what car/engine it is. I was expecting prices to start at like £20 per month.

Again not entirely relevant but for my 2.0 TDI I paid £360 upfront for 1 minor and 1 major service which should get me through 3+ years on the standard variable service intervals. I paid £500 for three year (fixed intervals) on my last VW so I nearly tripped over my wallet to hand over the £360 :)

Quite, cheaper than my 1.4 petrol A3 was at £15 per month and my ford focus at £24..

Yeah, that's why I was asking! :)

Well they definitely do service plans for the S4, as I've got one on mine. Sadly not the bargain available for other A4 models highlighted in this thread, as its £18.46 /month for the basic package that cover service/brake fluid change only.

Complete service & maintenance with tyres seemed to be silly money to me, at approx 4 times the basic package, so I passed on that.................

Hell thats still £6 a month cheaper than a very ordinary ford focus and my partner was paying £14 a month for her 1.0l ecoboost fiesta..

That's not a terrible deal I don't think. I don't know if I'd go for the complete option on this anyway as I'd likely want different tyres judging by the feedback in general.

It's 30p / month cheaper than my SQ5 was, so no complaints from me on the pricing.

Completely agree that it's better to have control over choice of tyres, and also when to change them - not many people seem to be keen on the Hankooks!

I got told there was none when I enquired. Still £19 is cheaper than the £36 pcm Mercedes wants for the C43!

This is great I cause I budgeted like £30-45 for it as I was paying £25 for a fiesta haha what dealer is this I'm gonna see if mine will price match :)

Bought the car in Aberdeen. Price of service plan is mileage dependent, but that's based on 12k/yr.

Ah good to hear, probably where I'll be picking mine up from provided they can match some of the great Carwow/Orange Wheels discounts I've been getting! Did they give you any deal when you bought yours?

Is the plan fixed or variable servicing? The last one I had was variable which annoyed me a bit because it seemed to be ages for servicing but at that price I won't complain!

Is the service plan cost effective?
I suppose it depends on your mileage and ownership length.
If are paying £886 over 4 years, on 12k miles a year. Assuming a 4 year PCP you will have 2 services in your ownership lifetime (19,000 miles or 2 years per service).
Are 2 services likely to cost more than £886? Anyone know the cost of S4 servicing?

Got my approved used s4 from Audi Hatfield and they don't do service plans. Took it to my local audi dealer and got a service plan for £30 pcm for 24months..service manager said it is dealer dependent as to whether they offer a plan for s/RS models

..forgot to say it is based on 12kmiles per year. If I hit that mileage sooner than the 12month agreement the car goes in and I have to pay outstanding months to settle, then it starts again for the next year/12k miles

Does it actually work out cheaper in the long run? As it seems to be more of a way to spread payments rather than having a large bill in one go. Not that its a bad way, small amounts spread across multiple months is better than a £500 bill in one go. I guess it's just with BMW you get a fixed £500 service fee for x period of time that makes that better value.

I don't think doing anything through a stealer works out cheaper in the long run however i do get 10% discount on parts as a result of having the service plan. Tbh I only went with it for ease and that Audi service stamp...

I needed disc and pads all round last week, the local stealer quoted approx £900.. Couldn't contain my laughter! In light of this when the plan ends I will likely pocket the £30per month and take it to a local vw/Audi specialist as and when servicing is needed.

Yes the Audi stamp is sought after, but the extra cost of using a stealer for servicing and repairs probably exceeds the amount you'd 'lose' when selling it without an Audi stamp..

As my brother worked as a Mechanic for Mercedes and a Service Manager for VW I already have heard of the tricks, in most cases the discs are not required, but it's the thing that most people won't say no to and they can charge more for.
But like you say it's the service stamp with Audi and the Full Main Dealer Service History that people look for.

I tend to use main dealer for the first 3 years while in warranty period, then look elsewhere, trouble is my feet get itchy after 3 years and I end up buying a new car again so I never reach the specialist.

@TripleD don't know about the B9 S4 but first 2 services on my B8.5 S4...
£238.64 - oil
£360.79 - oil and inspection.

Cool, so £600 for 4 years assuming 2 services.

If it's the same for the B9 then it makes the £18/month worthwhile for sure.

I just defaulted to one service a year, I suppose the maths would be different if the services were further apart.

If it was the £600 over two years you're saving £170, if it's two services in four years then you're like £260 worse off.

My car is on fixed service. The first 2 services on my B8.5 S4 were slightly better than @scotty76 (cheaper where I live)
£185 - oil @ 9k
£288 - oil and inspection @ 18k

Over 2 years that equates to £20 per month.

If my new S4 doesn't arrive before May, I'm going to get stung for another oil and brake fluid change (3 years)

I guess so long as it's fixed and you know you're going to benefit from the monthly payments then it's not so bad. I almost didn't benefit with my last A4 because it was on the variable servicing but made up for it with tyres. Haha.
