Cruise control not working in sixth gear

As per the title my cruise control is not working when in sixth gear, works fine in fifth & below, but not when I put it in sixth.

Occasionally it will flash on, but goes off again.

Any ideas?

*also in an unrelated issue (I think) I replaced my sidelight lamps with some white LED ones and the lamp warning comes up, but the lamps work fine. So, I replaced them with the OEM ones, and the warning now wont go away at all!

Are you able to get the car scanned (VCDS)? This would likely point to a circuit/component fault for the CC issue.

I may be able to get access to it, what is likely to be wrong and how would I repair it if it is component failure?
