Foe the past few weeks I've noticed a dim lit orange steering light near my speedometer, I own a 2008 audi a3 2.0 tfsi black edition, my steering feels normal and the only advice is it could be the led lighting up a little and nothing to worry about, I didn't really want to pay to get it vag tested. Anyone had anything similar?

Been plenty of these in the past. It's the instrument binnacle causing the fault. @NHN was looking into this awhile ago but i haven't heard the latest.

thanks for replying , i was just getting a little worried that my steering might be going at first just wondering if people may have had the problem aswell.

Steering will be ok, it's just annoying with the light being on. If the light does come with a full glow, you do have a problem--
All the time--Rack faulty or the electronics governing the rack going south.
When starting from cold -- battery is dying.
Only cure for the dim lamp is a new instrument binnacle (expensive from Audi) Have a search for Audi ECU's & electronics, maybe there are some aftermarket auto electronic companies who fix these at a realistic price.
