I have audi a3 from 1997/98. And my blower is working only on max speed (highest bar)

i have read everything about diagnosis at internet, also visited 3 electronics at my City and all of them said that the problem is heater resistor(red one in the picture), i went to shop and tried one than five more and again the blower wasn't working.

after days of searching on net, I found that the problem might be the fuse (the part on picture below)

but when i opened this part at my car, this box is empty. I dont have green fuse.

the problem indeed is this green party? this models are older and dont have it? or it is at some other place?

Hi mate, don't have an A3 myself(2003 S3) but have you always had this problem with the blower only working on speed 4?

I did a bit of googling and if so I think you should have a resistor pack fitted.Have you read this...

I know it's generic but maybe some help,it mentions setting 4 is fail safe.

If you need a resistor pack maybe one of these...?

Sorry to be vague, hopefully someone with some more knowledge will arrive soon

Sorry mate, not a lot of help to you.

Don't know if a vcds scan would produce any results, might be worth a try,but if it's not the resistor (red one in your first post) which is usually the most common reason maybe the control unit is at fault, but I'm just guessing.

Where are you based?

Maybe worth a trip to your local Audi dealer and have a chat with the parts guy and see if you can pick his/her brains, they usually know most answers

it was climatronic problem, i change it and now works fine.
