Everything running normally , till on the way home , deduced the strange plastic like scratching/squeaking sound was not from the front radio speakers , but a function of turning the steering wheel , coming from inside the cabin

Sounds hard to describe , something like rubbing two sheets of plastic / vinal sheet together ...Nothing wrong with the steering , wheels turn etc , could it be a little heavier than normal , hard to say

Any ideas , this some form of nylon bush failed ?

Tnx-G,

Yes just checked now , just the same as last night , can feel it via the wheel , some sort of dry plastic bearing noise , cork on glass , squeaks as the wheel is turned .. horn still working , tried changing the wheel position , just the same .. no problem with the power steering , loads the engine turning left/right car stopped ...
