I FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK!!

I found this thread on another forum and wouldn't you know it, after setting parking assist_0x0A in 5F to Not Active and doing a reset of the MMI it just started working!

So the dongle screwed you big time. Too bad you did not have a vcds backup before the upgrade.
