Do I still need my spare wheel (17") in the back of my car?

I have aftermarket 19" wheels and I'm wondering if it will still be of any use if I swap out the wheel for any emergency use?

Won't it be at a different size or be unusable?

You'd still be able to drive it incase of emergencies, you'll find that the overall circumference of the wheel will only be a few mm out. I had a similar problem when I punctured an 18", the 17" spare drove fine!

Always worth remembering that as the alloy size goes up, the rubber side wall goes down, so they're be (practically) the same size

That's how I understand it and why cars carry space saver 16" spare wheels that aren't low profile...
