I have just purchased my first Audi at auction. I paid $1800 au (about 1100euros?) for the A3 2003 model 1.8t.
It seems very good mechanically and has full service history and new clutch, timing belt/water pump in the last 3000k, and it drives very nicely.
Slight interior cosmetic repairs (worn buttons) and headliner sagging. And a slight noise for a minute after starting which appears to be from a pump looking thing fitted low at the front, between the engine and radiator??
I would appreciate if anyone could help me identify what appear to be a few minor mods.
I notice it has some blue pipework (creations motorsport) near the firewall.
And a larger steel pipe going down near the turbo?
Also there are some blue bars (sway bars?) across the front and rear suspension that don't look factory.
Otherwise it seems, pretty stock.
The MAF is PBT-GF30 and paperwork says it is AUM engine. Is this correct?
I have a heap of questions but will keep reading stickies before posting anything as I am sure most will be covered. Great website so far. Thanks for all the great info.
Cheers
