Hi all, been browsing the forum a little over the last few days since my decision to get myself a 2010 A4. This seems like a friendly community so thought I'd say hello.

My name's Dan and I'm from the Bristol area. I have secured a 10 plate A4 avant 2.0 tdi S line (170) and I should be picking it up on Friday all things being well.

Any pointers for common things to look out for would be greatly appreciated. I'm always grateful to learn from experienced/knowledgable folks like yourselves.

Oh, here's a pic from sellers site. It'll do until I get my hands on the car in a few days.

Are you planning any mods Dan, or are you keeping it stock

I like subtle aesthetic mods, so will be looking into what's around on that front. As for performance I may consider a DPF delete & remap depending on how it pulls. I believe the 170 should edge up towards 200hp?

Thought I'd add some pics of my own. I'm really enjoying the car after owning it for 3 weeks or so now. It's been in for new timing belt & water pump, full service and in depth inspection. Pleased to say it came back with a great bill of health.

Hi Dan looking good you have been busy

Thanks very much.

Yeah been busy making sure it's bang up together with where it should be in terms of service schedule and general condition. I like to have any car that's new to me gone over with a fine toothed comb so I know that I'm starting from a solid foundation where there are (hopefully) no hidden surprises. The VAG specialist was very happy with the car and reported zero issues including fault codes & visual inspection.

Not done much in terms of mods apart from correcting a couple of minor niggles. Previous owner obviously had an HID bulb fail and replaced it, but didn't match the temp with the other side. So fitted a brand new pair of Osram 5000k bi - xenon HID bulbs. Added some 5000k led canbus bulbs to the front fog lights as I like it all to match up nicely.

I wasn't planning to mod this one too much but this place is a bad influence, lol. Inspiration everywhere.
