Hey guys,

My father has a 3.0 tdi in the B7 shape and recently the clutch has started to slip, we have had a ring around and the cheapest place to carry out the work is Darkside Development down south. Whilst I'm sure they are very good at their job it's not exactly on the doorstep (live in Scotland near Dundee)

Is there anywhere that you would recommend doing the work in Scotland for a reasonable charge, either that is there perhaps anyone on here willing to do it as a homer (obviously getting paid too), I would also gladly give a helping hand as I'm an engineer by trade and enjoy learning something new, unfortunately just don't have the ramps etc.

Anyway I thought I'd just put this out there and see what people's views were.

Thanks

Ash

I know an Audi specialist near Falkirk who does homers if that's of any interest?

Changing the gearbox on the drive with one of these is not impossible but that gearbox is very heavy . I Can't believe that there isn't a VAG specialist who can do this for a reasonable price a lot closer.
I would of thought somewhere around £300--£350 to change a clutch, It's a 5-6 hour job.

Try Star Performance in Dysart. Audi specialists - Jim there knows his stuff and doesn't charge the earth.

Try auto-tec in port Glasgow

Hey guys thanks for your feedback, I just rang audi (for a laugh) and was quoted a nice round sum of £1800!!
Aye!! For a new car love?
No just the clutch and flywheel!!!!!
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Is pretty much how the conversation went

Going to a local garage today for a quote and will see. Will keep you updated should anyone else have the same problem.

Jesus, I know mine aint a 3.0tdi, but a still a quattro. I got quoted 150 quid labour! Even triple checked with the guy to make sure he knew it was a quattro and he said yep not a problem..

Bradford. I think I jinxed myself though as my clutch started slipping last night.. yey. So il be taking him up on that offer. Bet he won't honour it though lol!

Hey Guys just an update on the clutch and flywheel, the car has been booked in at a local garage and after speaking with the guy it seems as if he knows what he is doing. It's booked in for Thursday next week and once the work has been carried out and bill settled I will let you guys know where and who to speak to.

Hi guys just for information and sorry for the delay in replying but if anyone has clutch issues on their car, especially the 3.0 tdi B7, then I can highly recommend lamb and gardiner between Perth and Dndee on the A90 at the Shell garage. Good price and seems very knowledgeable.
