I’m new to the forum and new to Audi, so hello first of all! Recently got an A4 Avant TFSI quattro in misano red and very happy with it. Some of the options include the technology pack, matrix lights, panoramic sunroof, flat bottom steering wheel and 19” wheels. Previously had a 135i, Alpina B3 Biturbo, 525D Touring and 2 i3’s.
Thanks for the welcome! I’ve started looking at winter wheels for next winter as it’s obviously a good time to buy them. Trouble is I can’t imagine the car with anything other than these, function first but might try and get similar style in 18”Welcome! Love the colour and you have, in my opinion, the best-looking alloys on offer. Wish I had spec'ed them...

Thanks. What is it you’re waiting for?Lovely wheel and colour combo looking forward to collecting mine.
Yup, I agree with you fella. Mine is Manhattan and looks different in different light. I'm considering new wheels but cant make my mind up yet.Could not be happier with Manhattan Grey - was such a hard decision between Midnight Blue and Daytona Grey.
Manhattan has a lot of depth to it, I think it looks slightly blue on a bright day and almost black on an overcast one.

Next up, some photos of the rotor grey interior - as soon as the weather improve a little!
Thanks. What is it you’re waiting for?
Fantastic! Hope it’s ready for youShould be collecting an ex demo S4 saloon on Saturday if it’s ready, The bank holiday slowed down everything but fingers crossed.

Very nice....was Misano a standard colour option, or an exclusive option?Interior
Very nice....was Misano a standard colour option, or an exclusive option?
I see you have been a loyal BMW driver - how does the A4 stack up?
Hello and thank you for the welcome.
The Misano red is an exclusive option on the A4, think it’s standard on the S4.
It’s a very good car to drive and stacks up well, handling isn’t quite as good as BMW but not far off in my opinion.
I drove a B8 saloon 1.8 for work a few times and never got on well with it, it was a manual and for me, the pedals seemed to be very offset to the steering wheel and it just wasn’t a pleasure to drive. That experience put me off the marque. I also tested an A5 a few years back before I bought my Alpina, never liked it either, just wasn’t a fun car to drive.
When I was in the market for a car I was reading very good reviews on the B9, especially with the quattro and it piqued my interest.
I was immediately impressed with the interior upon entering the cabin, very nice place to be, the fit and finish was excellent. Then I went for a test drive and the car exceeded my expectations, cornering was very competent and composed at speed, exiting felt like a rear wheel drive car with the quattro. Steering felt well balanced and overall I was impressed. Wasn’t and still am not in love with the gearbox though, only downside, however I believe software can improve it, it’s a bit lethargic at speed or jerky at slower speeds depending on settings, not as smooth as the ZF in my previous F11 525D (3L version). I did try the new 530e for 1 week as a courtesy car but fancied a change and the new A4 finally swayed me away from BMW, something I thought would never happen!
Certainly no regrets. My needs have changed with a newborn and I really wanted a good all rounder without getting an SUV. The 3 series is too dated and the new 5 Touring felt too familiar even though it’s much improved, just felt too familiar. The A4 Avant accommodates all the baby gear with room to spare, comfortable even with sports suspension and 19” wheels, refined and has a decent level of luxury.
Interesting. However coming from a 5 series, how do you find the change from a 5 to an A4 space wise? Would have thought waiting out for the new A6 would be more really tempting considering its going to be as big or bigger than the G30 5series
Well I came from a 5 series to an i3 (x 2) and then to the A4 so it’s night and day compared to the i3 space wise! Overlaying the boot liner, there’s not much in it between the A4 vs 5 and rear legroom is more than ample, I’m just over 6’ and with the seat in my driving position there seems to be as much space in the back as there was in the 5, definitely more generous legroom than the B8.
I didn’t want a behemoth of a barge, especially having been used to parking and manoeuvring the i3 so the A4 was spot on size wise. Plus I wanted something ASAP as the i3 was a struggle with baby paraphernalia and I am impatient.
I’ve attached an image of the 5 series boot liner in the A4, it’s the same depth but slightly wider, not by much though.
Sad I know but couldn’t resist a picture from the balcony at work!
A month and 1200 miles in and still loving it...
Well except the annoying creak from the rear suspension that gets louder by the day! It’s in Warrington Audi on Thursday, wish me luck!View attachment 152822
This is the current situation. Slightly different on each side I think due to the camber on the drive, which stacks up with the difference in wheel arch to wheel gap distance on each side.See if yours looks like this.... mine is creaking tooView attachment 152890
Funny thing was it started as a knocking noise and then developed into a creak which disappears when the road is wet (lubrication?). But when dry, has gotten loud enough to be heard over the radio!Exactly. My first image shows that it’s come away. I posted a picture of the other side in my “I think I’ve got a lemon” thread where it’s fully inserted at both ends... weird that it’s on a few examples !! Should be an easy fix but I’ve not been to get mine fixed yet
Had mine a week and its gone exactly the same, booked in for a week on Thursday, hopefully a quick job.Funny thing was it started as a knocking noise and then developed into a creak which disappears when the road is wet (lubrication?). Fingers crossed it’ll be a 5 minute job as I imagine they’ll have seen a few like it. I’ll report back the outcome!
8 months old today. Just had it’s end of winter valet / detail touch up.
Still think Navarro blue is superb..
8K miles and well run in ....

Yep very quick job. They did a nice video showing the bump stop put back in, with the Technition explaining how it allows too much movement if it isn’t in correctly which causes the creak.Had mine a week and its gone exactly the same, booked in for a week on Thursday, hopefully a quick job.
