Come home after being out on a drive and went to park the car, when i selected reverse is clunked into gear like a small jolt and then shuddered when i started to drive, this happens every time it goes from park into reverse or park into drive, clunks into gear and shudders away once driven, also feels very restricted.
Any suggestions/ideas what it could be?

Its in the garage at the moment and the'v said its deffinetely gearbox related but they havent oppened the box up yet and there not back in work untill tuesday and i'm keen to find out,

2009 a4 3.0 tdi quattro

Thanks

Yeah i tried that the other day and it engages fine, even when driven it engages all gears spot on

Reverse uphill does it feel like it's slipping or you have to rev it hard ?

Does the garage know what's it's doing with tiptronic gear boxes as they are pretty difficult to work on. I remember being shown a catch which can be damaged if they aren't opened properly and the me mechatronic is literally a maze!

Am not 100% sure if they know what the symptoms are, its being done under warranty by the place where i bought it, and they'v sent it to a gearbox specialist so am sure they would of passed on the issues etc

I've not tried reversing up a hill, the cars currently in the garage- the place where its at arnt back in work untill tuesday morning which is a pain like..

At least it's at a specialist. Might just be the gearbox software or ECU.

Yeah true, i'm hopings its something small/stupid that can be easily sorted
