Hello all,

I know there's plenty of threads out there regarding fmics. Just wanted to know opinions on what people think.

What is the best fmic to fit and what sort of price range am I looking at?

Also just wanted to check if 2003 lights will fit my 2000 model with no modifications? I would love to upgrade my headlights.

Thanks.

Here are some of the links i think maybe usefull from the Stickies

With the headlights i have fitted facelift ones on my S3 APY 2000 plate.

I would make sure you select the correct option for you as there are a few in my opinion;

- Buy A3 Facelift lights and then either do it yourself or speak to members on here that have done a Bi-Xenon conversion and see if you can source the headlights and looms from them. As they do rarely come up for sale. (They came up in the last few months on the Facebook S3 8L page https://www.facebook.com/groups/S38LS/?fref=ts)

-Buy S3 Facelift lights from the AMK or BAM engine code and then source the adaptor that is mentioned above in the link.
(With the Facelift lights im unsure on how they will be wired in to auto level as the level sensor arm normally connects i belive to the rear tie arms on the rear suspension {Standard set up for S3's as they have xenons factory fitted)

For me this is what i had to do;
1. I had to cut the wings back and then i painted them with silver hammerite (As you dont seen the metal however protecting it from rust)
2. I then had to remove the auto level adjusters from my prefacelift headlights and fitted them to the new units (As the facelift motors have different wiring)
3. I also then used the sticky pads that are normally used for fixing license plates to the bumpers instead of screws. I managed to use these to fit the ballasts directly t the botto of my headlights (Its was a tight fit afterwards however was all good)
4.the rest was plug and play for the electrics (As mine already had Xenons as stock)
5. Also the mounting points are different on the facelft lights. the top ones are the same however the lower one is located differently. and Tbh the top ones on there own are good enough to keep the healight secure however when driving over bumps they may judder abit. so i used some thick rubber sort to put under the headlight to stop this happening.

My knowledge is limited with this and as you have another model im not 100% sure on what you need exaactly i only wrote this if it helps you in any way

Cheers
