Hi

Apologies for the possibly stupid question, but just noticed the small hose coming off the valve in the pic is completely deteriorated and split.

Obviously I'll try and get this replaced asap but what symptoms will this cause, and will it do any harm (I'm currently away so need to cover a few miles to get home).

Thanks as always for your help.

Apologies, this pic lol

Its Secondary air injection combi valve. Youll be fine its used to heat up the Cat on cold start.

Is that what it is! Is it just worth removing that all together then?

No point in repairing it , easier just to delete the whole thing and have done with it.

Also cleans the engine bay up nicely!

Well if its just this litle vacum hose than its easier to repair it. The pump itself is quite hard to get to. Just get a new vacum hose it goes from under the inlet mani to the valve. Aprox half a meter should take you about 5 min or less. And if not make shore than that the vac niple on mani is blocked otherwise youll have a leak.
