S3 oil top up?

So, it says Castrol on the oil cap on my MY14 car.

Does it still say Castril or Shell or whoever, on MY15 and later cars?

Yep mine's identical - March 2015.

That's also what my car was filled with, obviously! And had a bottle of Castrol 5W30 in the boot!

Engine took about 0.5 litres before 9000 miles, hasn't needed a drop since and have just rolled over 19k with my inspection service next Monday!

So my June 2015 Build S3 still says Castrol on the filler, however Audi gave me Shell Helix Ultra Professional 0W30. After lot of discussion with 3 dealers it appears Audi have switched to recommending Shell and this is the new oil that they are pushing ....

Have done 1500 miles in my car since July and just put in about 100ml of oil so far .... hardly seems to be using any

Same here (only March), guess Shell had the best bulk discount ...... ?

Shell is arguably better as it's Group 3 oil basestock main content is derived from gas giving it less impurities .
