The gloss black triangular trim on one of my rear doors has corroded on the corner, has anyone removed one and knows whats involved in the stripdown process?

I took mine to audi thinking i might be able to get them to do it under the paint warrenty , apprently trim paint isnt covered , i got a price anyways was about £240 for both sides to be done and he said they get an external company in to do them , full door strip down to change them apprently
there's a thread in this forum on the subject. Its a complete teardown. takes 1-1.5 hours each side. its not hard just tedious

I had this problem on my Sportback and this was carried out by dealer under warranty. Strongly recommend you try another dealer before shelling out from your own pocket.
