Hi

I have to change the rear seat belt (one of them with fancy tensioner jobby in an accident) on my 1998 A3 tdi as it's just failed it's mot as it looks like it's been chewed by a big dog ! Just had the airbag warning light taken off before hand and fault code was rear o/s seat belt. So what I want to know is when my second hand seat belt arrives will I have to book it in again to have new belt set to the ECU or will it just be OK to disconect the battery and swap units over ?

Thanks in advance !

Hi
Just in case sombody is slightly interested or has the same problem I changed my seat belt unit today (disconected the battery first) with out throwing any warning codes or putting the air bag warning light on !

Sorted !
