Sounds like your driving it like you should

@badger5 told me off because I wasn't giving it enough.. My DP wrap looked untouched lol. I've been trying but tbh haven't had the chance to drive it at all in the last few weeks!

Must try harder! I use 4 tanks of meth per tank of fuel

Epic cars chaps, both Rob and Gops.

I had the pleasure of a ride in tufftys recently, and it was staggeringly fast! Yours I imagine will be similar :)

Yeah I need to get the power to weight ratio up ever bit helps haha

Taking bits out of a car is rather addictive going to see what else I'm willing to part with tomorrow if I get the chance

Those seats weigh an absolute ton......I worked out that if I swap both my front seats for something lightweight, then it saves my entire weight.....
well almost.

Getting the rear bench seats out made a noticeable difference as well.

Sorted out the tracking today to get me by till I can get it fully 4wheel aligned...had it out a little drive and fair bit of extra noise now with no rear interior can hear fuel pumps buzzing well think that's what it is and the exhaust is a lot louder on cruise but when at 2 bar it sounds epic :racer:

Can't wait to properly get a good run init and see what the benefits are of the weight reduction

What do you make of those seats? Been looking at them myself! Also i had rear seats out other day an noticed a massive increase in exhaust noise.. tad annoying on motorway :/

Yeah they are crazy heavy....what did you notice more Alex like more acceleration or handling ??

To be honest I really like them surprising how comfortable they are...I bolted them in with the front of the seat one hole higher so I ain't sitting bolt upright and I could sit there on a motorway cruise for few hours easily

Yeah it's a huge increase in noise isn't it but for me I like it its not to bad when cruising at 60 the few miles I managed but when clapping on at full boost I love it sounds how 600+bhp should haha

I noticed it just feeling a bit more lively to be honest.

It equates to an extra 30bhp/tonne without all that extra lard, and i do think that's easily noticeable.
Handling.....well I guess braking would be better in theory, but I've just swapped the entire braking system so it's difficult to say,and the handling is something I need to spend a bit of time on.

I think the spring rate on mine is way too high, with the result that the damping is also turned up somewhat, and I know some work needs doing on that.

Noise....that's getting to the point where it is pretty loud, especially around 3500-5000rpm,although it's still not as bad as my old Escort was.
I need a new exhaust as well....

I'd like to weigh mine now to see what I've gained I never got the chance to weigh it before I removed the seats...30 bhp/ton that's a good increase for what you have removed

It's just a rough calculation but I reckoned removing 70kgs worth of seats and so on amounted to about that.

The guy who built my Cosworth engines was a rallycross and Historic GpC racer, and he always said that most people won't even notice less than 10bhp/tonne,and I agree with that.
There's a lot of people saying they can notice the difference a CAI makes when it amounts to 10bhp total at peak rpm,and a few percent's worth of torque.
I think what they're noticing is slightly better throttle response and a different noise.

I reckon I have saved 70/80kg too and works out around 23/25bhp per ton extra going by the factory sticker weight so should be noticeable when I get the chance to have a play never managed this morning

I think the 8L is a little lighter than the 8P to begin with,if I remember, but it's usually the way that a car gets porkier as the model number evolves.
Remember the original GTi compared to the recent models....

Kind of like me over the years......my power/weight ratio has definitely gone down.

I'm going to decrease my ratio further today as it's my youngest's 21st,and she wants a blow-out meal.....I have eaten so much this week I may well explode.

Well took the car out a little drive and it felt good...gave it a bit of a squirt to the top of 3rd and felt something not right so headed home gave it a check with vcds and got code 16622 and 16621 so I cleared the codes and cycled the ignition and now it's just the 16621 code that's returning anyone any ideas??
