Hi all,new member driving my first audi and i think i've made a big mistake,i've had it 5 weeks,it's a 2010 plate,bought secondhand with full history,though mainly specialist.79000
car is a4 allroad 2.0 tfsi and it's using a lot of oil, 2 litres in 500 miles, and the exhaust tips are black with soot.over the weekend the developed a misfire, bought a new coil pack and found 2 of the coils were covered in oil, tried the new coils out but made no diffrence, managed to get the car to my local mechanic to take a look yesterday,it ran rough all the way but got there fine.. i've yet to hear what he has to say.
ive taken a look through the forums and the concern i have is the dreaded pistons, and the 5k bill
ANY advise on what may be the problem is very welcome, also are audi the only option for the piston repair etc?,
thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Unfortunately your car with definitely require a rebuild mate.

Contact Audi UK tomorrow and get a case opened. I wouldn't worry about any incomplete history!

As Gazwould linked above, have a good read through my thread and others in this forum on the oil consumption Known problems. Plenty of decent results happening now!

I have actually spoken to Audi UK today with regards to refunding the oil consumption tests and they have agreed.

So no cost for any repairs/tests and looks like I will get a complimentary service thrown in also...
