Good morning all.... 2002 a3 1.9tdi with 111000 miles

When I'm going over bumps etc I get a loudish bang noise coming from the rear even at low speeds .

Just looking for roughly where the noise could be coming from .... I'm thinking it's either a shocker or worn bush somewhere It's going into a garage Saturday for a health check so I'm just wanting to be prepared hehe

Thanks in advance

James

Hi , yes I never thought of that one ... Will see tomorrow and thanks

I drove around with one for 6 months, it sure makes loud bangs on speedbumps ;)

Ah that's the one .... Sounds like a spring then.... Be rude not to lower it slightly then :0)

Axle bushes collapsing, polly bushes are much easier to fit than standard.

Yes your are correct , it's the axle bush on the drivers side...... Anyone got a link to the poly bushes as I will replace both sides

I used flo flex bushes on my old GTI from eBay, I think they were around £40 the pair about a year ago.

Where these in 2 halves or in 1 piece but the steel insert could be removed ?

Cheers James

I've just bought the Powerflex bushes for mine, I have the same issue...
They're one piece bushes with metal inserts, bit of grease and they usually side right in.
Cost me £60 odd from eBay, the part number is PFR85-415...
Fun job is getting the old ones out :banghead:

Yes flo flex are one piece, you can push them in with a gee clamp and some grease.
